InclusionDiagramThe NSIA aims to assist the sport sector to become more inclusive.  The NSIA’s area of expertise relates to the inclusion of people who have an intellectual disability, and as such any reference to inclusion by the NSIA is referring specifically to said group.

The NSIA believes that inclusion is achieved when the Australian sport sector takes ownership of the inclusion in sport of people who have an intellectual disability, to ensure opportunities are provided in all aspects of sport from local to international level.

Note:  It’s important to consider that although the support offered by the NSIA is specific to the inclusion of people who have an intellectual disability, the developments made as a result of addressing the needs of this target group can often lead to widespread generic improvements, positively affecting the inclusion in sport of a range of marginalised people and communities.
